Volleyball Training

Annual Registration

Softball Volleyball Officials and Scorekeepers,

Here are the details of the annual registration and Training meeting:
Dates are January 21 and 22 2012 from 7:30 AM till 2 PM. 
Registration will be from 7:30 till 9 AM. Attendance of one of the 2 days in required to register for FPOA in 2012.  If you are not able to make it please let me know and we will go over what options you have to get registered.  New officials we recommend attending both days.

Location will be Lake Howell High School Cafeteria 
Honigs Officials supply will be at our Clinic Sunday the 22nd all day. 

An agenda will follow in the next couple of weeks.  Just a couple of points for everyone to plan.

The first hour from 9 to 10 will be general association business after which Volleyball and Scorekeepers will break into their groups with Steve and Bob and spend about an hour or 2 going over their specific sports.  Softball will stay with Larry and the training team for the yearly rule changes and mechanics changes along with full FHSAA review before start of season.  If you are a new Softball Official to us no matter how many years of experience you have we need you there Saturday as we will have live games going on for softball.  We will be able to evaluate you there before the season.  If you believe you are ready to move up a level IE High School to College bring your gear and the training team can evaluate you.  This will be the time when everyone is in the same place and we can get a full consensus of you game.  There will be no games Sunday as schools are not permitted to play that day.  Steve will let me know on the Volleyball end if we are able to secure teams for that weekend and have some live Volleyball games.  If not FPOA is holding a volleyball State Clinic this year and we will have teams for that event.

I also am working on having a coaches forum around 10AM.  This will involve volleyball and softball coaches answering questions and discussing what they look for in officials.  After this I have John W from NSA coming in to discuss the Business end of softball and travel ball tournaments.  I think it will benefit all of us to know the inner working of what goes on to produce and event and how the actual team and sign up process works.
Larry and the training team will have an agenda out on what they have planned for the rest of the day for softball.

Steve and the Volleyball training team will be getting me an agenda for Volleyball training planned.

I will meet with al the College officials at 2 Pm for about an hour or so to go over the NCAA rule and mechanic changes for 2012.
